Ancient Galaxy features a unique way of handling death within the game. We wanted to come up with something that would allow death to not completely take the player out of the zone, and try to build the death into the story as well.
This unique death handing kicks in after the initial Digsite level, once your player has discovered the Space ship and has cloning capability.
When your character dies on a level, the level is saved, including your character's corpse. Your ship then reconstitutes a new clone of the last species that you were when you arrived at the level, and the player starts back on the Space ship. The new clone has no weapons or items, but can use the ship to create basic crystals and weapons, and can also use the opportunity to switch clone species if another one would be more appropriate.
When you return to the level via the Teleporter, the ship sends you to a spot near where you last were, and you can find your corpse and recover any Crystal Elements, Stem Cells and weapons.
